The Dawning of a New Day

I am announcing my run for the 2026 Ohio Special Election Senate seat as an Independent/Non-partisan and WRITE-IN candidate in the upcoming November 3rd general election.
I am a fiercely determined and strong woman with a visceral passion to serve and advocate for every Ohioan.
The state of our country has caused me much turmoil over the past decade, seeing our youth struggle, disenfranchised with our current political leaders and parties, and facing a future with so many unnecessary obstacles for their success.
It breaks my heart to see those in our state and country of different ethnicities, color, race, gender, sexual orientation, disabilities, and low socioeconomic status be abused, terrorized, imprisoned, and deprived the financial resources to survive here in Ohio and across our nation.
It is infuriating to see women’s issues being ignored and research funding non-existent for female driven health issues.
Our older adult Ohioans are chronically neglected and deprived of adequate services and essential assistance to flourish and prosper into their golden years. Even the simplest essentials of affordable senior housing, quality healthcare and attentive medical providers, economical medications and management support, safe and dependable medical transportation, and the means to access healthy foods, the grocery store and assistance in preparing healthy meals are just a few of the many challenges the Ohio older adult population face every day.
Our Emergency First Responders need significant funding, support and resources to successfully and appropriately meet the needs and protect Ohioans, to include:
- Partnerships with Ohio Social Service providers and Mental Health Professionals, encompassing their skills of calm, compassionate, de-escalating tactics to ensure all parties remain safe and protected when experiencing a medical event;
- Thorough training on primary medical diagnoses in which all citizens experience, most especially the aging adults of Ohio and the potential, reactive and unintentional behaviors and reactions which our emergency service personnel may encounter in responding to citizens' calls for help;
- Knowledge and education on Dementia, Alzheimer's Disease and cognitive deficits which impact Ohio citizens and require a gentle, informed response from our dedicated emergency first responders.
Every Ohioan, from our essential service workers, our underappreciated sanitary workers, our exhausted and over-worked construction and roadway workers, our underpaid laborers, our challenged and underfunded educators, our invisible yet dedicated custodial workers, our overburdened adult and child protection workers, our tireless social service workers, and our drained medical, nursing, home health and home care providers
DESERVE a VOICE, a fighter, an advocate, a force as their partner, representative, and ally to a better, more affordable, safer, welcoming, and caring Ohio.
It is time for a New Day in Ohio politics. I am a fighter. I am an advocate. I am ready.
Please join me as I embark on restoring dignity and integrity to politics and fight for EVERY Ohioan's right to prosper and prevail. I would be honored to serve you.
Stay tuned...more to come.
With sincere gratitude and hope,
Jennifer Espay
